Janet Riehl Featured Reader at 10th Annual Poets & Writers Picnic in Mountainair, NM, on August 25th
Last summer Dale Harris attended my talk “Show Me the Way to Go Home” at the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico and invited me to be a featured reader forthe 2007 Poets and Writers Picnic. I was only too happy to say “Yes!” (Click here to read my talk “Show Me the Way to Go Home.”)
Puzzling over what I could perform that would keep folks awake in the heat, I asked Dale if I could do my “Big Butts Are Beautiful” piece that I did last summer for Comedy on Tilt 3 in Lake County, California, my old home. She said “yes” right back! (Click here and scroll down to read an essentialized version of the piece at the Lake County Arts Council website maintained by Xian Yeagan.)
This week, then, I travel to New Mexico, one of my favorite places in the world, to participate in two of my favorite activities in the world: learning more about writing and sharing my writing with others.
