Riehlife Poem-of-the-Day: “Diversity,” by Hal Manogue
I’d known Hal Manogue for years as a blogging buddy. Hal became a flesh-and-blood friend when I went to Nashville first to record my audio book “Sightlines: A Family Love Story in Poetry and Music,” and later to celebrate its release. With typical generosity Hal read the preface to the project.
Hal is a poet, author, and essayist. His books are: Short Sleeves Insights; Short Sleeves Spirit Songs; and Short Sleeves A Book for Friends.
You can learn more about this series of poetry and essay books on his website, and explore his inspirations on his blog.
Diversity

Connected Brushes Of Life
Paint A Portrait
Of
Diversity
Each Life Brings
A New Thought
A New Experience To The Canvas
Of Lessons
A Deep Desire Bubbles In The Brushes
A Yearning To Be Whole
Within The Whole Of The Portrait
An Integrated Spirit
Brings Expressive Union
And Vivid Colors Of Change
To The Observer
As Well As The Observed
In The Now Life’s Painting
Hangs Perfectly
In
The Museum Of My
Consciousness
This is a beautiful poem. So glad Janet posted it here for us today. Thanks, Hal and Janet.
Diversity is another name for the power behind creation—an insight that Hal portrays in vivid and memorable detail.
I appreciate your thoughts Yvonne and Eden. Diversity is certainly a trademark of creation.
Hal…love your central image of life as a master painting revealed through a canvas of lessons. Thanks for sharing your poem with us.
